John’s approach is at all times practical and problem-solving. His preference, based on his own Balfour Beatty experiences as a purchaser of legal services himself, is to give his clients the succinct and pragmatic assistance and advices that they truly need - not extensive (and expensive) treatises on the law.
Recognising too the capacity for traditional time-based billing to lead to increased cost and inefficiencies, he is prepared for most projects to agree an “up-front” cap on fees. If the work can then be completed under the cap, the lesser fee is charged.
John has also, for many years, entered into client “hot line” arrangements where for the modest monthly figure agreed, all of the clients day-to-day legal inquiries can be satisfied through phone calls and emails, speedily and without fuss.
